The beginning of Ascension Magazine and Ascension Promotions

Once upon a time.....tree friends (Alex, Flavio and Silvia) decided to make a fanzine about goth and darkwave music. Alex and Flavio already wrote for another fanza released during that time (called Marble Moon) but their dream was release their own magazine. In 1999 this adventure began and they decided to call the new fanzine ASCENSION (like the 12” Ascension by Every New Dead Ghost). After the pubblication of the issue nr. 10 Flavio quit the fanzine that revived with another name: ASCENSION MAGAZINE. Alex and Silvia are still here as Alberto Lutriani a guy who played a big part in the magazine history since its first issue. Many contributors joined the magazine and then quit during the years and today the other Ascension Magazine’s family members are Gianfranco Santoro, Pierluigi Marchetti, Vanessa Venerdì, Giorgio Brivio, Emanuela Zini, Fernando G. Maistello and Candy Litz Rosembaum. Ascension Magazine is only in Italian. In 2008 we released an issue in English with a free cd enclosed and the response was excellent...unfortunately there is too much to do and so little time but the english edition of our magazine is our dream!

In 2001 Alex knew Patty Hele from the booking agency Mother Dance. This has been the beginning of a long partnership and friendship. Also Silvia was involved in this new project and that’s how ASCENSION PROMOTIONS was born.
